When I was fixing up my house, I purchased this dog door. A contractor friend highly recommended it. This unit does not require any changes to be able to go through the wall. I did not need to Knocked a hole-in-the-wall. It runs like a dream. The new door has an internal and external seals. When the door closed, I do not have air-loss. This petsafe dog door not be the same as the old door displays all of the drool of dogs. If your kids breaking into homes through dog doors, you could used the lock feature.

My Pointer did not hesitate to use it. But when using the new dog door, my pug will be a little more cautious. It is really two doors in one unit. He doesn't beware the first door, but is intercepted by the 2nd one. But, He still uses the door.

PetSafe Plastic Pet Door, Premium White

This pet door is just what I wanted. Installation is extremely simple, as well as the manual is very easy to understand. The door itself is sturdy, and flap is made of a durable, thick plastic. Similar to the other pet doors I have purchased, this one has a magnet at the underside of the flap which helps to make it closed when it is not being utilized.

I have found that other customers do not like the plastic screws, but I do like them.  Metal screws may be rusty, especially if you live in a rainy area, so I think plastic is a good choice. In short, I really can not find any negative words to comment on this product.

PetSafe Classic Pet Door

I love the Petsafe Classic Pet Door! I've bought 3 already. The dogs and I love the independence of them having in/out privileges at all times. When we out of the town, I would feel very safe because of the plastic door. Unless the pup chewing flap! It is sealed very well, I do not care about A /C or heat leaking into the backyard.

The plastic screws contained in the kit work sometimes, not others. If I ever have the need to buy another door, I'll go get some #8-3 inch machine screws to use in place of the plastic ones.
